SW Mahj Club started the way all the best things do — around a table, with friends, a lot of laughter, and a growing obsession we couldn’t ignore.

We’re Aimee and Allison—two Dallas girls who found ourselves in the mountains of Durango, raising families and craving connection, creativity, and just a little friendly competition. What started as learning American Mahjong quickly turned into something much bigger. The game pulled us in with its strategy and charm, but it was the people around the table who made us fall in love for good. We created SW Mahj Club to bring that feeling to life—welcoming spaces where everyone feels invited, whether you’ve never touched a tile or you’re chasing your next “MAHJONG!”

From Mahjong 101 classes to open plays, leagues, and themed events, our goal has always been simple: make Mahjong fun, approachable, and something you can’t wait to come back to. We’re here for the new friendships, the confidence that comes from learning something new, and the joy of playing a game that brings people together across generations.

We believe Mahjong is more than a game—it’s a community. It’s showing up, cheering each other on, and creating moments you’ll talk about long after the tiles are packed away. So whether you’re here to learn, play, host, or just see what all the hype is about… pull up a chair.

Let’s Mahj ya’ll!

Founder

A Durango local for 17(ish) years, she's a high school sweetheart turned wife to Jeff. Together they own the Balcony Bar & Grill in downtown Durango. She's also the proud mom of two future legends, Hunter and Hollis. If she's not at her full-time job, teaching mahjong, or running the bar, you'll probably find her cheering on her kids at their sporting events. She somehow makes it all look easy—and we're lucky she's on Team SW Mahj Club.

Also a Dallas native, Aimee has proudly called Durango home for the past 16 years. She and her real estate-slinging husband, Zach, are raising two adorable kids Keller and Barrett. She's equal parts sparkle and sass—with just enough Southern grit to keep things interesting. If you've laughed at one of our captions or spotted a pink graphic in your feed... chances are Aimee had something to do with it.
